A calmer way to learn complex systems

SELENE is an open, self-paced way to learn AI from notebooks that actually run. It makes prerequisites visible without pretending learning is linear.

What is here

The notebooks are the material; this site is an index and a set of paths through them. Every entry links the rendered version you can read now, the source file you can download, and a Colab link that runs it without a local install.

Collaboration

SELENE is developed in collaboration with the NUS School of Computing AI Society.

What is unfinished

Two things are written by hand and are therefore incomplete: the summaries and the prerequisite links. Where a summary has not been written, the notebook's own opening lines stand in and are labelled as such. Where no path has been mapped, the topic says so rather than inventing a connection.

That is the reason the dependency views are small. A local view of what a topic needs is useful; a diagram of every notebook at once is a picture of the corpus, not of your next step.

Feedback

Reading settings

Light and dark
The control in the header follows your system preference until you override it, and the choice is remembered in this browser only.
Motion
If your system asks for reduced motion, transitions here are switched off rather than shortened.
Keyboard
Every dependency diagram is a list of links. Tab moves between nodes, Enter opens one, and the same relationships are written out underneath the diagram.
